I Am Changing.... are you?

The last year has been a year of change, I've done things I never believed I would do, the big one being resigning from my job, taking a gap year and deciding to set up my own coaching practice. Major change in my life, but why did I do it and how has it affected me?

We all change whether we like it or not, even if it's getting older each minute, hour, day.

It comes into our life by crisis, choice or chance and whichever way it is we have always have a choice, do I change or not?

Often our first reaction to change is to be resistant, unprepared and have the feeling we have no control or choice to it.

It's inevitable, so why not go with the flow and see it as an opportunity in which you can learn and grow. With it our resilience grows and we become stronger and then we can start to thrive and not just survive.

Don’t be afraid of change. We live in our own comfort zones and as soon as the boundary is pushed, fear walks into our life. All those fears, doubts and limiting beliefs come out to play. There's no getting away from it, change can be scary, but if you decide that you're going to choose to see it differently as a positive and not as a negative, your mindset will change too.

I've talked before, and you can see some of my past blogs about knowing your why for life, knowing your purpose, once you have this clarified in your mind, then you know what's important to you and so change can be a successful impact on your life.

When change comes a knocking in your life, stress comes right along with it. When dealing with stress, there are lifestyle changes we can make which will help such as eating healthy food, exercise, drinking less alcohol, avoid drugs, doing things that relax us such as meditation, yoga, breathing exercises and the best one, plenty of quality sleep.

The most important thing to do is lean on your relationships, spend time with friends, those who are positive and will up lift you during the time of change. Don't spend time with the naysayers and those who are negative about life.

My final thought is that change is just part of your journey. We're all on one, make a note of your changes, how you respond, how you feel, don't feel. We all have a story within us and change is just another chapter in your story, so start writing…..
