The purpose of life is a life of purpose.

The purpose of life is a life of purpose.

Do you know what your purpose in life is?

Do you know what you’re passionate about?

Do you know why you are here?

Sometimes it crosses my mind, "what am I doing here?" What is my "why?"

For some it takes a lifetime to find out why they are here, others they know from a young age.

For me, it's not that I know my why - which is "I want to help as many people as I can find their resilience to bounce back when life kicks them in the teeth", it’s the journey that I'm on to fulfill that purpose.

I've been on this journey for a while now and I wish I could say I've been completely focussed at all times, the truth is that I'm easily distracted - by finances, family, what others say.

So why did I think that knowing my why is important

I read Stephen Covey say "If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step you take just gets you to the wrong place faster". It made me realise I'm going to the wrong place faster - I need to get my big picture first, then everything else would follow.

What followed was clarity on what I deemed to be important and unimportant. Life changed dramatically, to my giving up full time work so I could find the path that would give me my sense of purpose.

Life now has a meaning, I'm doing what I love, it might not give me big houses or big cars, but the truth is I would do it for no money at all. In fact I do, often!

It's become my drive and my passion. Everyday I'm out of bed at 6 to start my day, I can't wait to see what the day brings.

I've written about this before, when asked "am I successful? My answer is always yes! I'm a success because I'm doing what I love. I don't have a big house, or even a car, but in my eyes I'm successful because I'm changing other people's lives for the better, one by one.

Here's the thing, finding the right direction in my life, was a decision that I made, I created a space for me to think this through, I then made a decision to try to follow that purpose, then I had to act. I actually had to take some action.

So how did I find my Purpose - my why -

It was something that made me smile, laugh and when I'm doing it, I forget all about time.

What's happened since ….

I've found life to be easier in that I'm more focussed on what I want to achieve and have a clarity in my moving forward. My goals change all the time, but my ultimate purpose never does. It’s the momentum that I've created to constantly moving forward.

The truth is that a strong sense of purpose, a strong sense of knowing my "why" has fuelled my motivation. It's given me a clear sense of direction and understanding about what success means to me. Now everything I do in life is consistent with my purpose.

What about you? Have you start finding you purpose? If not, then start exploring and finding out.

Above all else, you should have fun and enjoy the journey.
